    • Commodity name: Casting Blank Quality Control (Core Wear Parts Control)

Core flow components of slurry pumps such as impellers, pump bodies, front guard plates, rear guard plates and protective sleeves are all castings. Defects in casting blanks are the main causes of rapid wear, cracking and leakage during operation. Strict control shall be implemented throughout the casting process and blank inspection.

2.1 Casting Process Quality Control Details

Melting Process Control: Strictly control melting temperature, holding time and pouring speed. The melting temperature of high-chromium alloy is controlled at 1480-1520℃ to avoid porosity and inclusions caused by low-temperature pouring. Record all melting parameters and keep process files for traceability.
Mold Inspection: Inspect mold size, flatness and wear condition before production. Replace deformed and aging molds in a timely manner to ensure the outline and flow channel dimensions of blanks conform to design drawings. The mold parting surface shall be free from burrs and deformation to avoid mismold defects.
Pouring Forming Control: Control pouring posture and gate position to prevent flow channel deformation, material shortage and cold shut. Perform static cooling after pouring as specified; rapid cooling is forbidden to avoid excessive internal stress and cracking of castings.

2.2 Finished Blank Inspection Quality Control Details

100% Visual Defect Inspection: Fully inspect casting surfaces for cracks, pores, sand holes, inclusions, cold shuts, material shortage and deformation. The flow surface is the key inspection area. All tiny pores and sand holes must be repaired and polished, and castings with severe defects shall be scrapped directly.
Dimensional Tolerance Inspection: Detect blank outline size, flow channel size and mounting end face size with calipers, tapes and templates. All tolerances shall strictly comply with drawing requirements, and the dimensional error of key matching surfaces shall be ≤±0.5mm.
Internal Defect Detection: Conduct ultrasonic testing (UT) and penetrant testing (PT) on high-pressure and large-flow slurry pump castings to detect internal shrinkage, porosity and cracks. Castings with excessive internal defects are prohibited from entering the machining process.
Blank Stress Relief Treatment: All casting blanks must undergo natural or artificial aging treatment to eliminate casting internal stress, preventing machining deformation and operational cracking. Blanks can only be transferred to machining after aging completion.
