1. Basic structure of the dredge pump

Single-stage single-suction horizontal centrifugal pump structure

Many dredging pumps have a single-stage single-suction horizontal centrifugal pump structure. For example, the WN series dredging pump is designed for the current situation of river, lake, and sea dredging in China. This type of pump system mainly consists of a pump head, a reduction gearbox, a high-elasticity coupling, a marine transmission device, and a monitoring system. The overall structure has good marine adaptability, excellent dredging performance, long service life, high efficiency, and reliable shaft seals.

Features of Different Types of Structures

Dredging Pump Series WN (Types 200WN - 500WN): The entire series adopts a single pump casing, single-stage single-suction cantilever horizontal structure. Depending on the connection method with the gearbox, two typical structures are provided: self-supporting bracket type and pump box integrated type. The 600WN - 1000WN dredging pumps adopt a double-shell pump, single-stage single-suction cantilever horizontal structure with a built-in support bracket. The lubrication method is forced thin oil lubrication. The design of the double-shell pump ensures that the sleeve is durable and the pump chamber will not flood when the sleeve breaks. Additionally, it employs a front-removable structure for easy disassembly and maintenance. The impeller and shaft are connected using standard four-start trapezoidal threads for torque transmission and easy disassembly. A convenient impeller removal mechanism is also provided at the shaft sleeve for easy impeller removal.

II. Performance Characteristics of the Dredging Pump

Excellent dredging performance

Good Cavitation Resistance: The WN type slurry pump has excellent cavitation resistance, ensuring strong suction ability and the ability to handle larger dredging volumes and higher concentrations of solids.

Steep Decline in Performance Curve: The flow and lift curves of the WN slurry pump decline steeply, which makes the pump more adaptable to changes in discharge distance. The lift can be adjusted under the same flow by changing the speed of the impeller or the diameter of the impeller.

Good wear resistance and long service life of flow-through components: The flow-through parts (impeller, sleeve, front and rear guards) of the WN type mud pump are made of high-strength anti-wear alloy cast iron (KmTBCr27) with a hardness of not less than 58 HRC, providing strong impact resistance and high wear resistance.

Other Features

Centrifugal dredging pumps can be driven by electric motors or diesel engines. They are characterized by light weight, good wear resistance, strong suction capacity, large particle size passing through, and certain corrosion resistance.

3. Drive Connection and Shaft Seal Type of the Dredge Pump

Drive Connection Method

The pump and the driver can be connected by direct drive, V-belt drive, hydraulic coupling drive, or reducer drive.

Type of Shaft Seal

Dredging pumps of 200KW - 500KW usually employ mechanical seals or packing seals or a combination of mechanical and packing seals; for 600KW - 1000KW models, rubber sealing devices are used.

4. Application Fields of Slurry Pump

Widely used in port, river dredging and dredging, mud and sand removal, ship transfer and other work, it can also be used for conveying relevant materials in mining, electric power, metallurgy, coal, environmental protection and other industries. It can also be used for cleaning the silt pool in the factory, removing mud and sand from the mine well water tank, dredging the river channel, mining sand on the beach, cleaning the silt at the bottom of the reservoir, digging wells, removing steel slag and other conditions.
