Introduction to Vertical Slurry Pump
Vertical slurry pumps are mechanical devices specially designed for conveying liquid mixtures containing solid particles. They are named "vertical" because their pump shaft is perpendicular to the horizontal plane. These pumps are widely used in metallurgy, mining, coal, power, building materials, environmental protection and other departments, especially suitable for conveying corrosive, coarse-grained, high-concentration slurry.
Structural Features
The main structural features of vertical slurry pumps include:
Overflow Components: The pump body and impeller are typically made of wear-resistant metal to withstand abrasion from solid particles. For the EVR model pump, the submerged underwater components are also lined with rubber, suitable for conveying corrosive slurry.
Bearing Assembly: The bearings are grease lubricated. Depending on the level of slurry in the tank, different lengths of pump drive shaft or suction pipe can be selected. For higher requirements on pool water depth, a custom-made extended shaft can be used.
Shaft Seal (Seal): Vertical slurry pumps do not require any shaft seals or seal water, and can operate normally under conditions of insufficient suction.
Transmission Mode: Common transmission methods include V-belt drive and elastic coupling drive.
Overall Performance: With multiple speeds and various modes of variation, the pump operates under optimal conditions, ensuring a long service life, high operating efficiency, and the ability to meet a wide range of harsh transportation requirements.
Working Principle
The working principle of the vertical slurry pump is similar to other types of slurry pumps, which utilizes the rotation of the impeller to generate centrifugal force, thereby increasing the energy of the solid-liquid mixed medium. The motor drives the impeller to rotate through a coupling, and the impeller squeezes and transports the slurry into the pipeline during rotation. Due to the slurry being thrown out from the center of the impeller, a negative pressure is formed, and the external slurry is pressed into the pump casing under the action of atmospheric pressure, thus realizing the continuous transportation of the slurry.
Application Fields
The application field of vertical sand pump is very extensive. In addition to the above-mentioned industries, it also includes environmental protection, new building materials, coal washing, municipal engineering, thermal power generation, coal gas coke plant, oil refinery, steelmaking plant, mining, papermaking industry, cement plant, food factory, aerated concrete, printing and dyeing and other industries. It can pump concentrated liquid, heavy oil, oil slag, turbid liquid, mud, ash mortar, flowing sand and flowing sludge in urban drainage ditches, as well as liquid containing coal blocks, ash slag, etc. In addition, it can also be used as a pump for pumping fluid and corrosive liquid containing mud, sand and slag in chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries.
