1. Application in iron ore magnetic separation plant
Transporting different materials
In iron ore magnetic separation plant, it is mainly used for tailings transportation and concentrate transportation, so it is often called tailings transportation pump, concentrate transportation pump, feed pump, etc. In the whole process, slurry pumps can transport iron ore slurry of various concentrations.

For iron ore magnetic separation plant, it is mainly composed of feeding pumps for tailings transportation, grinding and selection circulation system (including first-stage grinding and second-stage grinding), concentrate transportation pumps, disc filters (for circulation in thickening boxes), and slurry pumps play an important role in material transportation.
2. Performance requirements for slurry pumps
Corrosion resistance: Since the iron ore slurry is transported, the slurry pump needs to have corrosion resistance to cope with the erosion of the pump body by chemicals in the slurry.
Wear resistance: The solid particles in the iron ore slurry will wear the pump body, so the slurry pump needs to have good wear resistance. Usually, the fluid part is made of wear-resistant materials, and the flow-through parts are made of wear-resistant alloy materials to effectively resist abrasion in the slurry and extend the service life of the equipment.
Not easy to block: There are solid particles in the slurry, and the slurry pump should not be easy to block. For example, the grille placed in the pump pool should meet the requirements of the particles that the equipment can pass through, reducing the possibility of blockage caused by oversized particles or long-fiber materials entering the pump body.
Shaft seal parts are easy to repair and replace: Shaft seal parts are prone to wear and other problems. The design of the slurry pump should be easy to repair and replace. For example, common shaft seal methods include packing seals, pressure relief cover, impeller seals, mechanical seals, etc., to meet actual production needs.
3. Applicability of different types of slurry pumps in iron ore
Centrifugal slurry pump: It is the most common type of slurry pump, suitable for conveying iron ore slurry containing larger particles, and can meet the needs of conveying solid particles in iron ore.
Axial suction slurry pump: If there is high temperature, high pressure, and highly corrosive fluid in the iron ore that needs to be conveyed, the axial suction slurry pump can be used.
