Common Materials

45Tempered steel: Suitable for general working conditions with good wear resistance.

High Chromium Anti-Friction Cast Iron (e.g. A05 - KmTBCr27): This material has high hardness, with heat treatment hardness reaching HRC58 - 62. It possesses excellent wear resistance and good corrosion resistance against alkaline mixed liquids. It can be used in conditions with significant abrasion. However, its casting process is challenging, and machining is difficult. But it has a long service life and moderate price, making it a widely used material for slurry pumps.

Other Alloy Materials: Depending on the specific application environment and requirements, other alloy materials containing chromium, nickel, and other elements may also be used. For example, high chromium alloy steel (typically containing 15-30% chromium) has excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for handling solid particles in high concentration and high hardness environments. There is also wear-resistant material like A07 (KmTBCr15Mo3), which is developed on the basis of KmTBCr15Mo3 and is generally used for high concentration, high lift, and strong abrasion slurry transportation. However, due to its relatively high price, its application is somewhat limited.

Special material

304 Stainless Steel: Suitable for slurry pumps used to transport corrosive materials. Stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance, ensuring the lifespan and performance of the shaft under conditions of contact with corrosive media.

Duplex Steel (e.g. A49 - Duplex Stainless Cast Iron, etc.) : Suitable for severe conditions, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. For example, A49 duplex stainless cast iron not only has the wear resistance of high chromium alloy, but also has strong acid resistance, especially suitable for flue gas desulfurization system pumps; A33 (duplex stainless cast iron) is suitable for phosphoric acid nitric acid pumps, with good corrosion resistance and wear resistance, heat treatment hardness HRC35 - 50.
