Slurry pump is a large centrifugal pump, whose main task is to transport media containing abrasive solid particles. It is an indispensable general-purpose equipment in metallurgy, power plants, mining, coal and other industries.
In principle, slurry pump belongs to a type of centrifugal pump. The slurry pump relies on the rotation of the impeller in the pump body to drive the centrifugal force generated by the slurry to increase its energy for transportation. The basic structure of the slurry pump consists of impeller, pump casing, shaft, bearing, bracket, shaft seal and other parts. The principle is that when the impeller rotates quickly, the impeller blades cause the slurry to rotate quickly. The rotating slurry flies out of the impeller under the action of centrifugal force. After the liquid in the pump cavity is thrown out, a vacuum zone is formed in the center of the impeller. The slurry is pressed into the feed pipe through the pipe network under the action of atmospheric pressure or water pressure. In this way, continuous feeding can be achieved by circulating continuously, thereby achieving the head and flow required by the working condition design. At present, the feeding method of slurry pumps mostly adopts the backflow installation, that is, the liquid level of the slurry should be higher than the inlet of the pump.
